Alliance Bank wins “Service Excellence in SME Banking” at Trailblazer Awards 2014

Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad ("Alliance Bank") was recognised for its "Service Excellence in SME Banking" for the second consecutive year at the Retail Banker International Asia Trailblazer Awards 2014 in Singapore last week.

This latest recognition came hot on the heels of a couple of recent wins i.e. "Asia’s Most Customer Friendly Bank" and "Asia’s Best Online Banking" at the Financial Insights Innovation Awards (FIIA) 2014 by the IDC Financial Insights and the "Best SME Bank Malaysia 2013" by the UK-based Global Banking & Finance Review.

In explaining the Trailblazer Award’s judges’ decision, Ruben Kempeneer, APAC Regional Director, Timetric said, "This is the second year in a row that Alliance Bank has won the SME Banking Trailblazer award, and with good reason. Having developed a targeted value proposition catering to specific needs of the customer base with its online banking proposition, BizSmart, Alliance Bank has made it convenient for smaller SMEs, particularly sole proprietors, to avail cash management and Internet banking service."

"In 2013, BizSmart additionally implemented certain ‘game changing’ strategies in Malaysia such as launching the Business Academy and annual SME Innovation Challenge that was innovative, attention-grabbing and effective. Alliance Bank has also successfully focused on transaction banking improvements with BizSmart," said Kempeneer.

Now in its fifth year, the Asia Trailblazer Awards 2014 continues to reflect critical banking standards across categories including service excellence, strategy excellence, product excellence, channel excellence and process excellence. The programme is a tribute to the best-of-breed players in retail banking in Asia Pacific and is designed to be a fair and objective benchmark for the industry.
