Danamon Held Danamon Entrepreneur Awards 2017 Awarding Night

Jakarta, 6 December 2017. PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) today held the awarding night for Danamon Entrepreneur Awards (DEA) 2017, a form of appreciation for the achievements of Indonesia entrepreneurs. Danamon announced that Indonesia has chosen Nike Lidiyastuti Aritovani (Manufacturer of skipjack tuna food products) as the Favorite Recipient our of the five other DEA 2017 recipients, who are selected from 607 participants. The Favorite Recipient was selected through online voting in the DEA 2017 official website from 19 November 2017 to 5 December 2017. The awarding procession was held at Soehanna Hall, Energy Building, Jakarta.

“We would like to congratulate the DEA 2017 recipients, particularly the Favorite Recipient. We would like to thank everyone who participated in casting a vote. This event is expected to raise the awareness of the achievements and strengths of Indonesian entrepreneurs in solving socio economic challenges. Our hope is for the public to view entrepreneurship as a solution to reach prosperity, and the DEA 2017 recipients are proof of this as well as a source of inspiration,” said Atria Rai, Head of Corporate Communications of Danamon and the Committee Chairperson of Danamon Entrepreneur Awards 2017.

“On behalf of DEA 2017 juries, we are proud with the quality and variety of entrepreneurs who applied for this award. This reflects the strength and innovative spirits of Indonesian entrepreneurs, especially those from the small and medium enterprises (SME) segments. The number of participants who registered increased 14% compared to last year’s events, which is a testament on the rapid growth of the country’s SME segment. These two developments are positive trends for the Indonesian economy,” said T. M. Zakir Machmud Ph.D, Head Juror for DEA 2017 and Head of the SME Center (UKMC) of the Economic Faculty of the University of Indonesia.

As Favorite Recipient, Nike is entitled to IDR 60 million in cash prize. The other four recipients each received IDR 40 million. All of the recipients also received DEA 20174 trophies and certificates. The four other recipients who are selected by the juries are Gibran Chuzaefah Amsi El Farizy, Irma Suryati, Adrian Gunadi, and Marshall Pribadi.

The DEA 2017 recipients in the fintech categories, which are Adrian Gunadi from PT Investree Radhika Jaya and Marshall Pribadi from PT Privy Identitas Digital will also share their experience in a Entrepreneurshare workshop titled “Fintech: Literacy Solution in the Digital Era” on 7 December 2017, which will be attended by SME entrepreneurs, students, and bloggers.

For this year’s event, DEA presents different categories that focuses on the SME and fintech segments, while maintaining the Social Entrepreneur categories. This year’s categories consist of “The Best Small Entrepreneur” for entrepreneur with an annual revenue of IDR 500 million – IDR 5 billion, “The Best Medium Entrepreneur” for entrepreneur with an annual revenue of IDR 5 billion – IDR 50 billion, “The Best Social Entrepreneur” for Social Entrepreneur, and “The Best Fintech Entrepreneur” as well as “The Most Promising Fintech Entrepreneur” for fintech entrepreneurs.

The DEA 2017 board of juries are composed of T. M. Zakir Machmud Ph.D – Head of SME Center, Faculty of Economy University of Indonesia (LPEM FEUI), Ir. Yuana Setiowati Barnas, MM – Deputy for Financing of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, Restu Pratiwi – Executive Director of Yayasan Danamon Peduli, Junanto Herdiawan – Interim Fintech Head of Bank Indonesia, Ardian Taufik Gesuri – Chief Editor of Kontan Daily, Sebastian Togelang – Founding Partner of Kejora Ventures.
