Headquartered in the township of Thaketa in Yangon, Fullerton Myanmar is a licensed microfinance company with deposit taking capability. In line with FFH’s mission of “Enabling Success and Enriching Lives”, Fullerton Myanmar provides financing solutions to the micro-SMEs (“MSMEs”) customers to fund their businesses both in rural and urban areas. By doing so, we hope to play our part to contribute to the economic development of Myanmar.

Since its launch in 2014, Fullerton Myanmar now has 38 branches and outlets which covers 45 Townships in four regions, serving over 150,000 customers.

Maxine Chen

Managing Director

Ms Chen is currently Senior Vice President, SME & Commercial Banking of FFH and was appointed the Managing Director of Fullerton Myanmar in September 2018.

Ms Chen has more than 20 years of working experience in the financial services industry. During her tenure with FFH, Ms Chen has served as part of the management team of FFH’s portfolio companies; as Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Control in PT Bank Danamon Indonesia and Interim CFO in Fullerton Credit Services, China, a microfinance institution based in Chengdu, China. She is currently responsible for business performance of FFH’s investments in Myanmar, Cambodia, and other ASEAN countries, plus coverage of India. In this role, she project lead the establishment of Fullerton Myanmar in 2014, from business plan design, license application, grant funding as well as software configuration to launch Myanmar’s first cloud based and tablet enabled loan officers within 4 months of receiving license approval.

Before joining FFH, Ms. Chen was with Temasek Holdings as part of their Strategic Development Group for Financial Institutions. She started her career with Ernst & Young, London, where she worked for 5 years in the International Capital Markets Group, qualifying as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant. She graduated from the University of Oxford with a BA in Physiology, Psychology and Philosophy.
