Mr Ernest Wong
Chairman Fullerton Financial Holdings Pte. Ltd
On 15 March 2011, Mr. Ernest Wong was appointed Chairman of FFH. He is also Chairman of the Board Executive Committee, the Executive Remuneration & Compensation Committee, the Risk Committee, and the Nomination Committee. Mr. Wong joined FFH as a Director in November 2008.
Mr. Wong is currently a Member of the Temasek Advisory Panel, Chairman of Nucleus Connect Pte. Ltd, and Chairman of Invida Group Pte Ltd. He is also a Board Member of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Health Services Pte. Ltd, Casino Regulatory Authority, SingBridge International Singapore Pte. Ltd, and a Commissioner of Bank Danamon Indonesia TBK.
Mr Wong started his career in Singapore with the Economic Development Board and the Ministry of Finance from 1967 to 1971. He joined the banking sector in 1972 with the United Overseas Bank (UOB) Group in Singapore. During his close to 30 years with the UOB Group, Mr Wong held various key appointments, including 10 years (1990-2000) as Group President & Member of the Board Executive Committee. He was also Chairman of the Association of Banks in Singapore from 1991-1993 and from 1999-2000 before he left UOB to join MediaCorp as its Group CEO from 2000-2005. During this period he remained as a Board Member of the UOB Group, and Chairman of its Audit Committee. Mr Wong had also served as President Commissioner of Bank Internasional Indonesia.
Mr Wong graduated with a First Class Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Surrey under a Singapore Government scholarship.
